Ashford Place is a Covid secure venue with capacity monitoring, social distancing, sanitising measures and a one way system in place.
Please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before your workshop start time to register (wearing a face covering, unless exempt). Please sanitise your hands on arrival and adhere to all social distancing guidelines.
The on-site cafe will be open for drinks and snacks during your visit.
Please note that this workshop is aimed at Intermediate to Advanced level players (not beginners).
Jean Kelly
Jean Kelly hails from a family of several generations of professional musicians. Jean started playing Irish harp in Cork, studying with Bonnie Shaljean. She then won a scholarship to study harp at the Royal College of Music, London. Jean is in great demand as a versatile harpist, with an eclectic career ranging from Early Music to Contemporary Classical and Folk Music.
Jean performs on film soundtracks, for composers such as Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead), Dario Marianelli and Max Richter. She has performed at Áras an Uachtarán, and at Windsor Castle for the historic visit of President Michael D Higgins.
Jean is a member of The Society of Strange and Ancient Instruments. They undertake regular UK and European tours and have recently released a CD ‘The Longest Night’ featuring Jean on Irish harp with Benedicte Maurseth on hardanger fiddle and Clare Salaman on nykelharpa.
