Cormac Murphy

Kildare button accordionist, Cormac Murphy is an All Ireland champion on the instrument. Influenced by the music of Galway’s great accordionist, Joe Cooley, one of his early musical performances at the ‘Music under the Mountain Festival’ in neighbouring Wicklow, saw him play support to legendary musicians Seán Keane (fiddle) and Liam O’Flynn (pipes). He spent a number of years playing in Dublin – during his time there, he was involved in playing with the project ‘All in Good Time’ who released a CD at Smithfield’s ‘The Cobblestone’ in 2013, he was also a member of the band Tramú and more recently has been performing with London’s popular ‘Parish Céilí Band’.
